Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements for the here and now. They help us crowd out any negative clutter from our minds and replace them with positive awareness. What can affirmations do for us? They provide focus and keep us focused. "Try it, you will like it."

Clues for writing and using affirmations:

  • Keep them short and easy to remember.
  • Keep your favorite affirmations written where you can see them frequently.
  • Commit yourself to one affirmation at a time.

Examples of affirmations:

  • I have no duty to be perfect
  • I always have options
  • I am not my mistakes
  • This is a learning experience
  • Columbus was looking for India
  • Choose Once Again
  • I am learning these lessons faster than I did
  • I accept "It's just" or "It's only" means something different to me
  • I'm not required to do everything on my "to do" list
  • I have the right to expend my energy on relationships I choose
  • I am more than my illness
